“The paintings of Sergi (like his sculptures) evoke views and aggregations of primordial matter, a chaos rich with enigmas and potential for development, through which the artist moves, confident in the organizing power of his own poetic intuition. Thus, the tumultuousness of the matter is curbed, finding a superior balance in the geometric arrangement of the colour fields, the rhythmic alternation of light and shadow, and the harmonious aggregation of colours.
